The Apex Park & Recreation District (i.e. “Apex District”) was created in 1956. With a few exceptions, the Apex District's boundaries are Sheridan Boulevard on the east, Clear Creek and 52nd Avenue on the south, Highway 93 on the west and the Boulder/Broomfield county line on the north. The District manages over a dozen park and recreation facilities and employs nearly 900 people. Facilities managed by the District include the following:
- Apex Center
- Apex Field House
- Apex Tennis Center
- Community Recreation Center
- Fitzmorris Recreation Center
- George Meyers Swimming Center
- Indian Tree Golf Club
- Lake Arbor Center and Outdoor Pool
- Outdoor Field Rentals
- Racquetball and Fitness Center
- Secrest Recreation Center
- Simms Street Recreation Center

District Oversight: |
The five-member Apex District Board meets twice per month to review and approve the District’s operations and finances.

Property Tax Usage: |
Approximately 45% of the Apex District's operations is funded from property taxes with the remainder of its operations funded from program fees, facility fees and grants.
